I am happy to consult with families considering a trip to Israel with people of all ages, abilities and learning styles. Israel is the ultimate multi-sensory learning environment for families, people with disabilities, and bar/bat mitzvah. Contact me to start making plans today for an upcoming visit!
Israel Trips for the Disabilities Population
I have been privileged to organize and lead many trips to Israel for people with various disabilities. In my 15 years as director of the Tikvah Program at Camp Ramah in New England, I coordinated all aspects of 10-12 day Israel trips for people with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. The most recent Tikvah trip in 2017 was a Birthright trip, in conjunction with provider Amazing Israel. I have also led three Aspergers Birthright Israel trips through the wonderful provider, Shorashim. Our most recent trip was December 22, 2019-January 2, 2020 .

In my trips to Israel, I have gotten to know many programs serving people with disabilities. I have visited army bases (Special in Uniform), Aleh Negev, Shalva, Effie (Association for Asperger – Israel), Shutaf, Harduf, Kibbutz Shluchot, Kibbutz Ein Hanatsiv, Beit Issie Shapiro, AKIM, Krembo Wings and more. There are so many wonderful programs in Israel serving people with disabilities!

Israel Trips for Families
Our Israel trips for people with disabilities have introduced me to many destinations and activities in Israel which are also great destinations for families traveling with children of all ages. Some wonderful attractions include the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, Gan Garoo (kangaroo park), De Karina Boutique Chocolate Factory (Ein Zivan), Introduction to Silence-Israel Children’s Museum (Holon), Nalaga’at theater, and BlackOut Dark Restaurant, Grafititiuyl (Graffiti Tour-Tel Aviv), Jeep riding on the Golan Heights, Neot Kedumim Biblical Landscape Reserve (Modiin) and various IDF bases which include soldiers with disabilities through the Special in Uniform program.

Other Israel Trips
In my capacity of director of the National Ramah Tikvah Network for Camp Ramah, I have participated in five 5-day charity bike rides and hikes which have taken us from the Golan Heights to Eilat in Israel. There is nothing like experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells of Israel from the back of a bike!
